It’s my 31st birthday!

Today is my 31st birthday, and I have not felt the way I do in quite a while. I got vacation time for the past three days to just be able to celebrate and relax for my birthday this year, but it feels like so much more. I can’t believe how blessed I have felt for the past week, and for that I am so grateful.

I am happy, and I can’t wait for what is ahead!

First of all, this is my first birthday as a husband, and my wife always knows how to make me feel awesome. She has been taking care of me a couple weeks ago when I was sick, we’ve been able to go out and watch a couple movies we have been wanting to watch, she’s just been amazing, and I cannot wait to spend more time with her as my wife!

This past Tuesday I was offered a job at Chapman University, and I happily and excitedly accepted. While the opportunity will do great things for my career and help with my schedule to spend more time with my family, I am also sad that I am leaving my Apple family and all the love I have for my teams at Apple. It’s been a fun and great practically 7 years, but it is time for me to move on and expand on my skillsets.

This past Saturday I did an open invitation to my friends to join me and my wife at OC Night market for some food and just to hang out and catch up. It was a pretty decent turn out and we all got to fill up on food and hang out. I felt so blessed to have some of my closest friends come out and celebrate with me for my birthday this year! Thank you to everyone that made it out that night.

This past Sunday was Father’s Day, and we celebrated by having some Shabu Shabu and KBBQ at my in-laws house. Kathleen and I are known to treat our guests to shabu shabu when they visit our apartment so we brought it to her parent’s house and added KBBQ as we hosted the dinner for the evening. It was a fun night and we all got to spend time and show appreciation for each other. I even got to share the news of me getting the new job with the whole family at once minus my mom.

Today was my actual birthday, we kept a little low key but had a great time anyways. We spent some time running errands, and ended up getting a portable air conditioning unit for our room as we are in the middle of a heat wave. We also went grocery shopping to prepare our meals for the week ahead. We then went to our local parish to celebrate mass for my birthday and also for the 60th anniversary celebration for our parish. We then finished up our night with some homestyle KBBQ and cleaning the house for the night.

What’s in the future? Let me tell you …

Well for one thing, if you are reading this, awesome! In the near future I have decided to start taking up writing a blog again for various projects that I have coming up. So please come back every once and a while and see what I have thats new. I also plan to hopefully start up vlogging on YouTube and get some videos on there. So if you have specific topics that you would like to read about, please let me know!

Some of the first topics that I have been wanting to write about are topics such as: HomeKit, Smart Home, Internet of Things (IoT), Apple Tips, Food, and technology in general. This week I plan on writing about the current state of Smart Home with HomeKit and my current setup at home. I have been buying different Smart Home devices, mainly HomeKit compatible, as I am an Apple user and people have been asking me about the different things that I have. That will be written and posted sometime this week. I hope to get on a normal schedule of writing very soon. I just need to adjust to creating content again.

I hope you will come back and visit to read what I have to share with everyone.
